6/13/23 – This is a WW2 German SS Dienstglas AJACK 4×90 Sniper Scope. The scope is marked “AJACK 37510” on the right side of the elevation adjustment knob base. AJACK, meaning the scope was made by the A. Jackenroll optics firm Berlin, and the number being the serial number. The scope is marked on the left side of the elevation adjustment knob base with a “Death’s-head SS Dienstglas” marking. These scopes are compatible with any German side or turret mounts. The blued finish is in near-excellent condition with some minor areas of thinning and edge wear, as well as a few light spots of surface patina. The optics are crisp and excellent with a sharp reticle and functional adjustment knobs. The adjustment knobs / exterior fittings are a metal alloy while the scope body is steel. There is no additional rifle serial number added anywhere on the exterior of this scope. It’s possible this example was never issued or captured at the end of the war because there’s only a VERY faint trace of witness markings from mount rings on the scope. The scope was acquired from a retired USMC Officer’s estate, but we have no documentation to accompany this statement.
