8/21/20 – This particular pistol is a bit of a fascinating mystery. It is a WW2-era CZ 27 with no serial number, no legend on the top of the slide, no firing proofs, no markings (other than the slide legend), and late war grips with no “CZ” symbol. It also comes with a capture document, dated 1945, that says CZ 27 pistol with no serial number. With all of these details in mind, our prevailing theory is that this gun was in the factory at the end of the war, was never test-proofed, and the top slide legend was ground off in the factory to remove all remnants of the Nazi occupation, and it was then captured by a US GI immediately after the war. This is just our theory, but examine the photos and decide for yourself. This gun has retained about 95-96% of its bluing. There are a few areas of wear, most noticeable on toward the top of the left side of the slide, two small spots on the left side of the frame, and a few small spots on the right side of the slide. The grip is excellent – no chips or cracks. It comes with a period-correct magazine. The bore is excellent – shiny with strong rifling.
