10/3/24 – This is a great example of a WW2 Era Japanese Rising Sun Flag. This flag is in great condition and has no holes or tears in the fabric. The fabric appears to be silk and to the touch has silk like qualities. The flag still has its decorative gold reinforcements in the corners of the flag where the straps for hanging the flag are. We believe this flag to be a civilian flag made during WW2 for the Japanese home front. The flag does have creases from how it was folded and stored. The flag measures roughly 20.5 inches in length and 14.5 inches in width.
