5/8/24- This is an original WW1 era cut bayonet for the model 1903 Springfield or similar rifle such as any M1 Garand. The bayonet is cut to a 10 inch blade. The blade has it’s original finish with a sharpened edge, with typical scabbard/sharpening wear. No patina or pitting throughout blade. Maker stamped by RIA with a 1911 date stamp on one side and “US 195151” on the other. Nice original black handle. The metal fittings, pommel, and hand guard are in excellent shape with no patina and very little wear. The metal on top of the grips is marked AFH. The scabbard is in excellent shape and is US stamped with the flaming bomb. The scabbards locking mechanism fully engages as it should.
