7/15/20 – This is an original WW1 Springfield 1903 Bayonet with the original leather sheath and frog. The bayonet is 1907 dated, serialized, and marked with a flaming bomb proof and “SA” makers mark. The bayonet is in great condition for its age. The blade has small spots of oxidation throughout but no damage. The hilt is covered in brown patina. The scabbard is also in great condition. It is marked “R.I.A.” and dated 1907. There is light freckling on the metal parts and handling marks/light scratches in the leather throughout. No major damage. The frog is in tact. It is scarce to see them together.
