3/16/22 – This is an excellent example of a “Wolf & Klar” Smith and Wesson .44 Caliber Hand Ejector 3rd Model revolver. According to the included factory letter, it was shipped to Wolf & Klar on March 24, 1927. This one is all matching and has retained about 97% of its original high polish finish. There is minor wear around the muzzle and where the barrel meets the frame. Hints of wear on the high edges. Very light roll mark on the cylinder and some tiny scratches/handling marks here and there. There is a series of tiny dings on the base of the frame and grips. The bore is excellent with strong rifling. Excellent wood grips. According to the factory letter, these were “…introduced in 1926 at the request of Wolf & Klar of Fort Worth, Texas. It was exclusively manufactured for Wolf & Klar form 1926 until late 1936. It was one of the first large distributor special produced by Smith & Wesson. The contract price to Wolf & Klar was $21.90 each and they were ordered in lots of 1,000 units, but generally delivered to Wolf & Klar in shipments of 25 units.”
