7/14/23 – This is a very nice example of a Winchester Model 1917 issued to the US military during WW1. Both the receiver and barrel are marked Winchester. The barrel is dated January of 1918 and has the proper flaming bomb military proof. The receiver is also flaming bomb proofed, and the safety lever is marked “E”. There is not much actual finish loss on the metal parts, mainly on the trigger guard and floorplate. The stock has no major damage, but there are small dings and scratches throughout, and a few gouge marks. Bore has strong rifling but is fairly heavily pitted.
