3/8/23 – This is a very nice example of a Winchester Model 1917 issued to the US military during WW1. Both the receiver and barrel are marked Winchester. The barrel is dated February of 1918 and has the proper flaming bomb military proof. The receiver is also flaming bomb proofed, and the safety lever is marked “E”. The wrist of the stock is marked with an “Eagle Head” proof, but the left side of the stock has a “3GM-K” arsenal rework marking. There is not much actual finish loss on the metal parts. Some handling marks here and there and light scuffing on the floor plate. Minor wear around the edges of the butt plate. Very minor dulling of the finish on the left side of the receiver. The stock has no major damage, but there are small dings and scratches throughout. A small chip on the right side of the butt stock and a more noticeable gouge around the wrist. Mint bore.
