3/20/24 – This is a very nice example of a commercial Winchester Model 1897 pump action shotgun from 1902 that was converted to a trench gun configuration. Issued to the Penna State Police, as evidenced by the original sticker on the stock and the “SPD2 CAR8” unit marking. Added heat shield and bayonet lug. The metal parts have retained somewhere between 85-90% of their finish with general high edge wear, brown patina on the receiver, and some noticeable pitting on the bayonet lug. Very nice wood furniture. Very nice bore. Comes with a leather sling.
