7/20/23 – This is a Winchester model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine chambered in .25-20 WCF. This rifle was developed by the legendary John Browning in the early 1890s. The rifle has retained roughly 40% of its original finish, with spotty wear and patina throughout. Receiver is marked with the serial number and tang is stamped with the model name. Barrel is stamped “Winchester Repeating Arms Co” and shows the caliber. The lever action is smooth and the King’s Patent gate functions properly. 20in barrel. Wood furniture is in great overall shape, with no major damage. There is a small gouge on the left side of the forend and a minor scratch on the left side of the stock, as well as a few handling marks here and there. Bore is dark but has good rifling.
