3/2/23 – This is a very nice Springfield Armory M1 Garand with receiver from late 1944. The original barrel was reworked by Tooele in 1964, but it is still the original Winchester barrel. ME and TE are both a 4. The finish on the receiver, barrel and trigger group is very nice but the gas tube shows thinning throughout and the slide is refinished/replaced. Original Winchester barrel and receiver. Stock is a replacement and looks to have been sanded. P proof on wrist. The wood shows various dings and nicks, with a thin surface crack in the upper handguard. Bore is shiny with strong rifling but there is frost throughout the grooves.
