3/23/22 – This is a Winchester M1 Carbine from late 1942 or early 1943 that was re-worked for Korea. Square P proof on stock verifies the gun was reworked, but it’s mostly comprised of WW2 original parts. The receiver and barrel are both Winchester, and the stock has a faint but original military cartouche with National Postal Meter maker-mark. Bayonet lug and adjustable rear sight were added for Korea. It also appears the handguard was modified by a previous owner to the remove the sight channel, no idea why. It is an original P-U marked handguard though. Bore is very shiny with strong rifling but does have a little bit of pitting in the grooves in a few spots. No import marks.
