11/16/21 – This is a very nice example of a Walther PP manufactured in 1939-40. This particular gun is in the proper serial number range to have been issued to the SS, though it does not come with a matching-numbered magazine. It is all matching and has the proper “Crown N” proofs. It has retained about 92-93% of its original high polish finish. There is minor wear on the high edges of the slide and around the muzzle. Some spotty/scratchy wear on both grip straps. However, the most noticeable sign of wear is minor pitting and freckling on both sides and top of the slide and on both grip straps. Unfortunately, someone has very lightly scratched their name into the very bottom edges of the grips and scratched their initials and what looks like a date on the bottom of the frame (see photos). Comes with excellent period-correct black bakelite grips and a post-war magazine. The bore is near-mint – shiny with strong rifling.
