3/25/24 – This is a nice example of a scarce “W” Prefix Colt Government Model shipped to the British military during WWI. The US government sent about 17,500 of these to England from 1917-1919. Chambered in .455 Eley British. It has the proper British proofs throughout, a British black enamel finish, and an “RAF” British Royal Air Force marking on the left side of the frame. It has retained roughly 75% of its black finish with minor chipping throughout. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with a proper magazine. The bore has good rifling, but unfortunately there is a slight bulge in the barrel.
