11/19/22 – This is an excellent example of a very rare “Zero Series” Walther P.38, manufactured in 1945. They are called a zero series because the serial numbers start with a zero. Only 1,750 of these were produced according to Whittington’s book. This one is all matching and has one “Eagle 359” military acceptance proof – typical for these guns. This one has retained nearly all of its late-war finish. While there is next-to-no actual finish loss, there are areas of tiny pitting around the muzzle and around some of the high edges of the slide. Comes with crude late-war bakelite grips – some tiny chips here and there and a hairline crack around the screw hole on the left side. Also comes with an “Eagle 359” proofed Walther magazine. Mint bore. De-cocker is functional.
