6/23/22 – This is a very rare 1929 or 1930 made Simson luger that was issued to the German Police. Only about 12,000 total Simsons were made, with only about 1,000 going to the police. The pistol is all matching, has the proper Simson proofs throughout (even on both grip screws), and has an installed police sear safety. It has retained roughly 85% of its bluing. The majority of the finish loss is on the grip straps where there is also some light brown patina and spotty oxidation. Minor wear on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. A few tiny scratches on the side plate. Comes with very nice wood grips – the right panel is numbered and matching, the left panel is not numbered but is “Eagle 655” proofed. Also comes with a period-correct but mismatched Simson magazine. Very nice bore with good rifling.
