10/5/23 – This is a very rare Steyr G29(o) assembly that was part of a small Luftwaffe contract. These rifles were part of a separate contract that was being manufactured at Steyr when the 1938 annexation of Austria occurred. The Luftwaffe, in desperate need of small arms, immediately took over the production and the rifle was modified as much as possible to the standard 98k Rifle configuration. It was made briefly in 1938 and early 1939, after which the factory was re-tooled to manufacture the standard K98k. This one is matching and has retained roughly 75-80% of its finish. There is some spotty wear around the muzzle and areas of finish loss on the barrel bands and on the floor plate/trigger group. Spotty oxidation on the butt plate. Excellent wood stock that has been lightly sanded. Minty bore.
