3/19/24 – This is a very rare Smith & Wesson Model 39 that was issued to the United States Air Force. The listing is accompanied by a S&W archives letter stating it was sent to the United States Disbursing Officer in Boston to be exported for use to the United States Armed Forces. It is also accompanied by a USAF hang tag with the pistol’s serial number on it. The majority of these pistols were issued to General Officers in the Air Force, though we don’t have any specific attribution for this one. The hang tag has a 1971 inspection dated and is labeled as DD Form 1574. The pistol itself is in mint condition or very close, with a mint bore and grips. No wear to mention. It comes with an original box, which is not serialized. The box includes the manuals and two spare magazines. C&R eligible.
