3/26/22 – This is an excellent example of a very rare Mauser Model 1914. It is marked “P.D.M. 758”, indicating it was issued to the Police Department of Munich. From research, there are very few known examples. In fact, we only know of one other in the private collection of an advanced collector. This one is all matching and has the proper “Crown U” proofs. It comes as a rig with a nice 1935-dated police holster, one un-marked magazine, and one police-numbered magazine that does not match the gun. There is a police unit marking on the inside of the holster that does not match the gun. The pistol has retained about 97% of its original finish with very minor wear around the muzzle and some spotty wear on the front strap. While there is not much actual finish loss, there are areas of noticeable spotty oxidation on the left side of the frame and on the front strap. Comes with a slightly worn period-correct wood grip. The bore has good rifling with some very minor pin-pricking throughout.
