11/19/21 – This is a very rare 1923 DWM Luger that was part of a small contract order by the Finnish Army in the 1920s. Labeled the M/23, it’s one of only ~8,000 produced. Finland was newly independent and sought Lugers to arm their military, but DWM was forbidden from production of military calibers (9mm) so these were produced in .30 Luger. It features the standards SA marking on receiver, but also the rare crest over the chamber with the words ‘VANKEINHOITOLAITOS’ above it. It has matching numbers throughout with excellent bluing all over, aside from the sideplate which is thinning/browning all over. Bore has a little frost throughout but good condition overall. Magazine has an original wood base with mismatched serial. Left grip panel has a chip in the corner, and the grips are unmarked.
