6/15/23 – This is a very rare P.38 made by the Ernst Thalmann factory in Suhl in 1953. They only made about 120 of these guns. It is all matching and has all the correct proofs. In this variation, the main parts were usually newly manufactured by Ernst Thalmann. This one has a Spreewerk slide and has Nazi proofs on the right side. These weapons were marked with the A.B.9 logo. New production started for some weapon types that were needed for arming the newly established German Communist authorities. In the beginning, the readily available German WW2 weapons were used, although those weapons needed spare parts and replacement. This one has retained about 90-92% of its finish. Most of the wear is on the front strap, but there is also minor wear around the muzzle and on the front edges of the slide. Fitted with excellent bakelite grips. Comes with a matching-numbered “ac” and “Eagle 359” marked Walther magazine. Excellent bore with great rifling. De-cocker is functional.
