07/22/2024 – For sale is a model 1871 Mauser made at Österreichische Waffenfabrik Gesellschaf on contract with Steyr in Austria. The rifle is in great condition for its age. The metal has a layer of patina throughout but is free of any active rust or corrosion. The stock is clean and free of any cracks or breaks. The proofs are still visible on the bottom of the stock. The rifle is nearly all matching except the buttplate is mismatched. The cleaning rod is unmarked. The bore is fairly bright but fully frosted over and is darker towards the muzzle.
