08/26/2024 – For sale is a very nice Springfield Model 1855 rifled musket chambered in .58 caliber. This rifle is in great condition for its age with the metal having spots of grey patina throughout. There aren’t any signs of pitting or heavy corrosion. The stock is in great condition without any cracks or breaks. The lock plate is marked “US Springfield” with the Eagle Crest and the year 1858. The top of the barrel is also stamped 1858. The bore is bright which is rare for a gun this old, with great rifling. The rifle comes with a socket bayonet and scabbard.
