3/3/23 – This is a very nice example of a WW2-era Model 1911A1 pistol put together from parts. The frame was made by Ithaca and dates to 1944. The slide is scarce and made by Union Switch & Signal. The slide should have a dulite finish, but it appears to have been parkerized. The barrel was made by High Standard. The gun has retained about 94% of its finish. Areas of light spotty wear on the front strap, underside of the frame, and along both sides of the slide, concentrated mostly around the high edges. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips. Comes with a period-correct “R” marked magazine. Mint bore.
