5/10/23 – This is an Underwood M1 Carbine issued to the US military in 1943-44. The barrel is IBM-marked. The stock was made by Winchester and is faintly “W” marked in the sling well. A bayonet lug and an adjustable rear sight were added, likely for re-issue during the Korean War. “Blue Sky” import mark on the left side of the barrel. There is not much finish loss; the metal parts have retained about 97%. There is general minor high edge wear and some very light scuffs along the barrel. There are obvious signs of use on the wood furniture. There are heavy sanding marks on the right side of the butt stock and on the grip cap. The gun comes with an oiler, a fairly worn canvas sling, and a parkerized magazine. The bore is generally shiny with good rifling, but there is some tiny pin-pricking near the muzzle end.
