11/5/24 – This is an ultra rare DWM Model 1914 Commercial Army Luger. Only 100 of this variation made in the 69100 – 71000 serial. They can be identified by their blank chamber and unique triple Crown/X imperial proofs on the right side of the slide. The 1914 Commercial Army model was made specifically for contract military sales to the German Army. With the introduction to the 1908 models, the German Army found renewed interest and need for the Pistole Parabellum. This was the landmark model the gave the Luger it’s military designation, P.08. These 100 Lugers were taken from commercial production. This one is all matching and in excellent condition. It’s original finish rates about 96% with just minor high edge wear. Very light freckling on the grip straps. Fitted with mismatched grips, both numbered “54”. Comes with a mismatched magazine – the hold-open doesn’t work properly with this magazine. The bore has good rifling with very light pin-pricking throughout.
