10/2/23 – M5A1 Bayonet made by Milpar, with an M8A1 scabbard made by T.W.B. The bayonet is in great condition and used exclusively on the M1 Garand rifle. The underside/blade side of the hilt is marked “U.S. M5A1 MILPAR COL”. The blade has some very minor thinning on the original finish from being removed from the scabbard, but there is no rust or pitting or use signs on the blade. The blade is still very sharp. The handle is excellent as well with on cracks or chips. The m8 scabbard is in good condition and shows some minor nicks on the right edge. Overall a nice collectible piece. These were introduced in 1953 and used throughout the Korean War, Cold War and Vietnam.
