7/10/23 – This is an original WW2 Type 38 rifle by Jinsen Arsenal. Jinsen made around 14,000 Type 38’s during 1942 (the only year in which they produced this model). The rifle has a ground mum with only the edges of the flower visible on the receiver. The metal is in great overall condition however, which we rate around 95% overall. There’s some mild finish loss on the receiver and muzzle area of the barrel, as well as mild patina on the bolt assembly. The rifle has all matching numbered parts and comes with an original dust cover, which is not numbered or stamped. The wood stock has a few light dings and surface scratches. This is typical aging and use wear, and there’s no notable cracks or chips. Mechanically sound with smooth action and a very nice bore. The bore has strong rifling throughout and some mild patina and aging shown within the grooves, 8.5/10 overall. Comes with an original cleaning rod and early wartime variation T30 bayonet.
