8/16/21 – This is a very nice example of a Swiss Schmidt Rubin Model 1896/1911 straight-pull rifle. These are extremely interesting as these are very early rifles converted from the 1896 config to the later 1911 configuration by adding the pistol grip to the stock and re-barreling to the modern and proven 7.5×55 Swiss caliber. This one is all matching and has a “P” marking under the serial number on the receiver, indicating it was privately purchased. It has retained most of its finish with spotty wear and brown patina around the muzzle and front barrel band. Rear barrel band has lost most of its finish. There is some minor scratchy wear and small dots of oxidation on the receiver. The magazine has lost much of its finish. The stock has minor dings and bruises throughout. Mint bore.
