10/29/24 – For sale is a Swedish Mauser Model 1896 rifle chambered in 6.5×55 and made in 1913. The 1896 was derived from the Mauser Model 1893 with a cock-on-close action. The rifle is in great condition overall with the metal retaining the bulk of its original bluing. There are spotting of oxidation visible throughout. The stock and handguard are in equally nice condition with no cracks or breaks. The receiver matches on the bolt but the rest of the parts do not match. The back of the receiver was drilled and tapped for a Swedish target diopter sight which is used on FSR rifles. The bore is becoming darker with some prickling or pitting visible. The muzzle is not thread for the blankfire adapter. There is an import mark on the right side of the barrel.
