4/18/23 – This is a clean, matching example of a Swedish M96b Mauser. This model is a favorite among shooters with the flat shooting 6.5×55 cartridge. Rifle is in excellent condition, with even bluing throughout the rifle and just some minor scratches on the top of the barrel past the handguard. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, and some frosting in the grooves. The stock is clean, with a few dings here and there. There is a prominent indent above the trigger on the right side of the stock. There is also a stock toe repair that was likely done at the arsenal. The rifle is matching on the receiver, bolt knob, safety flag, buttplate, cocking knob, Magazine, and both barrel bands. The safety mechanism body is force-matched to the rest of the rifle. The stock disk is present notating the rifle. The muzzle is threaded for the training blank-fire device. Currently sports an aftermarket flash hider. The rifle is Import marked on the barrel, slightly obscured by the front sight hood.
