8/30/23 – This is an original WW1 era Swedish M1896 knife bayonet with a matching scabbard. The scabbard and bayonet are both unit number stamped in the same style and numbering, as shown in photos. This is fairly uncommon and we haven’t seen many other examples marked in this fashion. The bayonet blade is clean with some very mild speckling patina and light surface wear. The edge has a few small chips and dings from use. The base of the blade is serial numbered 684, which also matches the number stamped on the mouth of the scabbard. The handle is in great condition with some mild surface patina but most of the original finish is still intact. The scabbard is in great condition. Measures 33cm overall (without the scabbard) with the blade length of 21cm.
