8/24/23 – This is an excellent example of a Smith & Wesson Pre-Victory revolver that was part of the British/Australian Lend-Lease Program during WW2 – issued to the British or Australian military. It ended up at the Lithgow arsenal in Australia in 1955 where it was reworked. It is all matching and marked “Made in USA”. There is an “FTR MA 55” marking on the right side of the frame, which indicates the rework at the Lithgow arsenal. Import mark on the left side of the frame. The gun has retained about 97% of its parkerized finish. Very little actual finish loss, but there are some light handling marks here and there and some areas of minor pitting under the finish on the cylinder and on the back strap. Excellent wood grips – the right grip panel is numbered but not matching. Mint bore.
