12/9/20 – This is an ultra rare Police Mauser Banner Luger from 1939, with Eagle/K inspectors mark on right side of receiver. There were only about 1,200 of these every produced, and only 900 in 1939. This particular serial is reported in Jan Still’s Third Reich Lugers, and was the earliest reported serial number for a 1939 date of this variation. This particular gun has all matching numbers, including the magazine, though it appears ground down and renumbered. The finish is original and rates at 95-96% with minor high edge wear, a little thinning on the barrel and minor finish loss on the ears of the receiver. Excellent bore and grips, which are unmarked. Just one patch of smoothing on the right grip panel.
