4/17/24 – This is a very nice example of a super rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi police force in 1943. It is all matching and has a police “Eagle L” marking on the right side of the slide. This variation is rare as only about 900 first variations were issued (lacks Waffen 135 proofs, only has Eagle N proofs), and only ~1,500 with ‘byf 43’ slide legend. It has retained about 90% of its original finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the front strap. There is muzzle wear and some very minor wear concentrated around the high edges of the slide. A couple of light scratches on the left side of the frame. Mint bore. Fitted with period-correct reddish bakelite grips and comes as a rig with an excellent 1943-dated holster and two “Eagle 135” Mauser magazines. De-cocker is functional.
