9/13/23 – This is a stunning and scarce Finnish Mosin M39 with antique classification, manufactured using a receiver tang from 1895 paired with a 1940 “VKT” barrel. The M39 was an improvement over the other Finnish Mosin predecessors, and they are considered to be the finest and most accurate Mosin Nagant rifles ever made. While it is unknown how many 1940-barreled “VKT” M39s were produced, their numbers are very few. This serial number may be the lowest known to exist. This example also has the desirable cross-cannon “L” stock. The rifle is in near mint, unfired condition, with a matching bolt, in a beautiful round finger joint stock. It retains virtually all of its bluing and the wood furniture is flawless aside from a few handling marks. Stone mint bore. Antique, so no licensing required.
