11/14/18 – This is an original SS dagger from the late 1930s, with an original scabbard and rare variation hanger. The hanger wraps around the scabbard, as shown in photos. The clasp is RZM and OLC maker stamped. The blade is maker stamped by Gottlieb Hammersfahr. The blade has some light oxidation / discoloration as shown in photos. There is some surface scabbard scratches mostly toward the tip of the blade. Overall in great condition with some honest wear. The handle has a small surface crack near the “SS” emblem on one side of the handle, the reverse side has two small cracks coming from each end of the metal fittings. The scabbard is missing most of the original blued finish (early SS daggers had blued scabbards, so although worn this is still an early, desirable scabbard) and is covered with light patina. The dagger, hanger, and scabbard are undoubtedly original, 100% guaranteed. A very cool piece of history.
