8/1/22 – This is a Springfield Armory M1922 MII that was made in the 1930’s and upgraded later. These were built as cadet training rifles, designed to mimic the M1903 Springfield. This particular example shows that the armory upgraded it from the MI, as the second ‘I’ was clearly added later. The blued finish rates at ~80%% with several areas of thinning and/or patina. Minty bore. Stock has several scuffs and scratches but no cracks. Bolt action is buttery smooth. Handle is marked ‘NS’ and ‘M2’, and bolt is also marked ‘M2’.
