8/31/18 – This is a U.S. Springfield M2 Training Rifle in mint condition. These were used as training and target rifles during WW2. The rifle has Lyman front and rear sights. The barrel is 1942 dated, SA stamped, and ordnance stamped. The metal is in like-new condition, as these were often arsenal refinished and updated to M2 specifications after WW2. The action is very smooth and the bore is excellent. The wood is clean and minty as well – with “D-28225 M2” on the underside of the wood. The magazine is original and also M2 stamped.
