4/21/22 – This is a nice, correct Springfield Armory M1 Garand from 1943. This gun was previously sold and inspected by Scott Duff, known author and expert on the M1 Garand, and the listing includes some printouts of the email exchange he had about this rifle. He referred to the gun as a “restoration” in the email, and this appears to mean that parts were swapped to make the gun 100% correct and original parts, rather than the finish or stock being refurbished. A full parts guide is also included. The stock has a crossed cannons cartouche with fairly sharp inspector’s mark. Finish on the receiver has minor thinning throughout. The bore has nice rifling and just a little frost in the grooves, but does show some wear. The muzzle is a 3, throat is a 2.
