11/30/21 – This is an early Springfield Armory M1 Garand with 1942 manufactured receiver that was re-worked after the war. Barrel is also Springfield-made and dates to May of 1953. The internals appear to be Springfield also, including trigger group and slide. The stock is marked only with a circle P on the wrist, and obviously has many dings and visible wear throughout. The finish on the rifle is nice on the receiver but there’s pitting on the trigger guard and wear all over the gas tube. The bore is excellent and shiny with strong rifling. Muzzle is a 3, throat is a 1.
