4/26/23 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield Model 1903 rifle that was reworked by the United States Marine Corp for WW2. The receiver is marked Springfield, numbered with a serial from 1918 and features a “Hatcher Hole” on the left side. The barrel is marked SA and dated “10-42”. There is also a matching electro-penciled number on the top of the bolt, correct for this variation. There is noticeable finish loss and some minor pitting on the barrel bands and floor plate. Minor thinning around the rear sight. Excellent wood stock with only minor dings and dents, no major damage. Mint bore. Comes with a front sight hood.
