8/8/23 – This is a near-mint example of a Smith and Wesson Victory Revolver, manufactured in August of 1944 and issued to the US Navy during WW2. It is all matching and has the proper “US Property GHD” marking on the top strap. The gun has retained about 98% of its original parkerized finish. Most of the finish loss is concentrated to one small area on the left side of the frame below the cylinder. There is a minor turn line on the cylinder, and there are just a few tiny hints of wear on the high edges and very light surface scuffs here and there. Beautiful case-hardening on the hammer and trigger. Excellent wood grips – the right grip panel is un-numbered. The left panel has some writing, but it is too faint to make out. The bore is like-new. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. Comes with an official S&W factory letter detailing the gun’s provenance.
