12/11/23 – This is a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 from WW1. It is all matching, “United States Property” marked, and has the proper flaming bomb and “Eagle Head” military proofs. There are also British proofs throughout, indicating it ended up with British at some point. The finish rates about 93%. While there isn’t a ton of actual finish loss, there are tiny handling marks and areas of spotty oxidation and tiny pitting throughout. Fitted with un-numbered wood grips. Minty bore.
