8/1/24 – This is a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, “United States Property” marked, and has the proper flaming bomb and “Eagle Head” military acceptance proofs. It has retained roughly 80% of its finish with spotty wear and splotchy discoloration throughout. Some pin-pricking along the barrel. Fitted with wood grips – the grip are not numbered, but there some initials scratched on the inside. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout.
