7/21/23 – This is an original WW2 production K98 rifle that we consider “shooter grade” since it has been post war refinished, import stamped, and has all mis-matching numbered parts. Despite these setbacks to the collectability, the rifle does feature all original WW2 parts including the stock, cleaning rod, and sight hood. The leather sling is a post war reproduction. The metal is in great condition with some mild thinning and edge wear near the muzzle, barrel bands, receiver, magazine floorplate, and trigger guard. We would rate the finish around 85% overall. The wood stock has no notable cracks or chips, and the original serial number and waffen proof stamps are still visible. Mechanically sound with a very nice bore that we rate 8/10 overall. This is due to excellent rifling but some mild patina and surface wear within the grooves. Import stamped on the barrel. C&R eligible.
