3/21/2023 – This is a Sharps and Hankins Model 1862 Navy Carbine, chambered in .52 Rimfire. Overall in fair condition, with finish loss on the receiver, and obvious spotty brown patina as well as some oxidation throughout. There is also some minor pitting along the barrel. Nice wood butt stock, but there are a couple of hairline cracks. Bore has strong rifling, but does have spotty oxidation throughout. Initials “P J.R.G.” are stamped onto the left side of the receiver. There is a navy anchor marking on the top of the receiver.
