6/21/23 – This is a nice example of a Walther PP sold in the commercial market in 1938. It is all matching and has the proper “Crown N” proofs. This one is scarce because it has a 5-digit serial number. There are only about 20 known wartime PPs with 5 digit serial numbers. The known serial number range is 98895p through 99997p. There are estimated only 1k pistols made with a 5 digit serial number during WW2. This one has retained roughly 80% of its original bluing. There are some spots of wear on the grip straps, but the majority of the wear is along both sides of the slide, concentrated mostly on the high edges. Fitted with period-correct grips – some light cracking along the left edge of the left panel. Comes with a proper Walther banner-only magazine. Mint bore.
