3/15/22 – This is a very nice example of a Mauser K98 Kriegsmodell issued to the Nazi military in 1945. It has typical late-war features for a Kriegsmodell such as no cleaning rod slot, no bayonet lug and no disassembly disc. It also has a rare “svw 45” Mauser makers mark on the receiver. The only numbered parts are the receiver and bolt assembly, which are mismatched. Comes with a period-correct leather sling. The floor plate/trigger assembly do not fit perfectly in the rifle – there is a small gap between the wood and metal. There is no visible numbering on the stock, but there are faint waffen proofs on the right side and underside of the butt stock. There are some light scratches on the receiver and barrel. The front barrel band, floor plate, and trigger assembly have almost no finish. The wood stock is very nice, but it looks like there were a couple of wood repairs and a repaired hairline crack around the wrist. The bore is mint.
