10/23/2024 – This is an example of a St. Etienne Gaulois No 2 Palm Pistol, manufactured from 1895 to 1912. It uses a tactile “squeeze fire” action with an internal magazine. Has a single bead sight on the barrel rib with a manufacturer mark on the rear of the frame at the top, “Cal. 8m/m” at the front, “No./2” on the dust cover, and the manufacture Francoise logo along with “GAULOIS” on the barrel. The left side of the action has a unique three-position “S/F/D” (safe/fire/unload) safety switch. It has retained roughly 90% of its original finish with some prickling visible on the barrel. The receiver is nicely engraved with wear towards the bottom and some spots of oxidation. The backlite palm grip is in great condition. The bore has significant spots of pitting visible.
